Michael Arneth

Michael Arneth (born November 15, 1905 in Unterstürmig near Eggolsheim , † March 20, 1995 in Bamberg ) was a German theologian and teacher .

Arneth attended the Progymnasium Forchheim and the New Gymnasium Bamberg and studied philosophy and theology in Munich and Innsbruck . In 1924 he joined the Catholic student association WKSt.V. Unitas Schyria at. After his ordination in 1929 he became a chaplain in Bamberg. From 1932 to 1936 he was prefect at the Archbishop's College for Boys in Bamberg and religion teacher at the New Gymnasium, then until 1953 teacher at the humanistic gymnasium and the upper secondary school in Bayreuth as well as a part-time lecturer at the College for Teacher Education in Bayreuth. In the Second World War he was used in the medical unit.

After the war he was a teacher at the old grammar school in Bamberg from 1953 to 1957 and then until 1964 a lecturer at the Institute for Teacher Training in Bamberg , which in 1958 became the Bamberg University of Education of the University of Würzburg . After completing his habilitation at the University of Munich, he worked as a professor for religious education and religious education at the Bamberg University of Education, which became the Bamberg University of Applied Sciences in 1972 . He was also a member of the university's board of directors. From June 1, 1963 to December 31, 1987 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate in the group of religious communities .
