Until the beginning of the 19th century, Unterstürmig was under the sovereignty of the Bamberg Monastery . The territorial and village and township government took the cathedral chapter of Bamberg true. The Bamberg office Eggolsheim exercised the high judiciary as a Centamt . When the Hochstift Bamberg was secularized as a result of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1802/03 and annexed by the Electorate of Palatinate-Baiern in breach of the Imperial Constitution , Unterstürmig became part of the New Bavarian territories that were taken over during the Napoleonic land consolidation .

As a result of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Unterstürmig became a rural community with the Second Community Edict in 1818, which also included the wasteland of Klebheimerhof. In the course of the municipal reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, the community Unterstürmig was incorporated into the Eggolsheim market on July 1, 1972. In 1987 Unterstürmig had a population of 279.
