history

Until the beginning of the 19th century, rescuers were under the sovereignty of the Bamberg Monastery . The Bambergisch-Dompropteiliche caste office Unterstürmig perceived the territorial or village and community rule. The Bamberg office Eggolsheim exercised the high judiciary as a Centamt .

When the bishopric of Bamberg was secularized as a result of the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1802/03 and annexed by the Electorate Palatinate-Baiern in breach of the Imperial Constitution , Rescuers became part of the New Bavarian territories taken over during the Napoleonic land consolidation .

Due to the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Saviors became a rural community with the Second Community Edict in 1818. In the course of the municipal regional reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, the municipality of Rettern was incorporated into the Eggolsheim market on July 1, 1972. In 1987 rescuers had 248 residents.
