Ensembles
Eggolsheim town center
The ensemble ( location ) encompasses the place within its old boundary line, which is still clearly legible today, which was reinforced in the south with a water-bearing ditch and in the north with palisades. Located on the connecting road Hallstadt-Forchheim, Eggolsheim was north-south in the early Middle Ages, parallel to the Main Valley, as suggested by the southern entrance to the town with the shepherd's gate. With the expansion of the stream line system in the 14th century, the east-west flowing Eggerbach became the main axis of the settlement, which now developed transversely to the thoroughfare. On both sides of the open brook, the two arms of the wide market, Hartmannstrasse, Hauptstrasse, run along which the narrow and deep plots that protrude to the boundary line of the town are lined up. The gables of the houses on the farms face the stream line, the barns are located at the rear of the property, and gardens extend between these and the former fortification line. In the center of the complex, belonging to both halves of the market, the town hall was located above the stream. The church district is located in the northern part of the village, shielded from the market by a row of houses. As some surviving examples show, the original development consisted of single-storey half-timbered houses. Despite a few new buildings that weaken the character of the townscape, the settlement complex with its clear structure, which dates back to the Gothic period, has value as an ensemble. However, today's buildings mostly date from the 18th and 19th centuries. The four exits to the surrounding villages are marked by wooden chapels with late Gothic wayside shrines. Remarks
- ↑ This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
- ↑ The architectural monument D-4-74-123-162 is incorrectly referred to in the Bavarian monument list as the passage “for the Riniggraben”.
- ↑ In the Bavarian list of monuments incorrectly referred to as "part of the Ludwig-Danube-Main Canal , 1836–45".
- ↑ In the Bavarian list of monuments incorrectly referred to as the passage “for the Sittenbach”.
