Michael Campbell (Bishop)
Michael Gregory Campbell OSA (born October 2, 1941 in Larne ) is a Northern Irish religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Lancaster .
Life
Michael Gregory Campbell joined the Congregation of the Augustinian in, put the profession on September 17, 1966, and received on 16 September 1971, the priestly ordination .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on February 12, 2008 Coadjutor Bishop of Lancaster . The Bishop of Lancaster, Patrick O'Donoghue , ordained him episcopal on March 31 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Brian Michael Noble , Bishop of Shrewsbury , and Patrick Kelly , Archbishop of Liverpool .
With Patrick O'Donoghue's retirement , he succeeded him on May 1, 2009 as Bishop of Lancaster. Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on February 12, 2018.
