Michael Dietz (born September 9, 1976 in Grünstadt ) is a German radio and television presenter , journalist and non-fiction author .

Life

Dietz comes from Grünstadt in the Palatinate . Between 1997 and 2002 he studied information science and German at Saarland University . In addition to German , he speaks English and French .

Since 2001 Dietz has been working as a freelance journalist, presenter and travel journalist. From 2005 he was employed as a lecturer for media management at the University of Fresenius . From April 2009 Dietz worked in video production.

First he could be heard on local radio stations and later worked at Saar TV and 103.7 UnserDing . Between 1998 and 2001 he could be heard at SR 1 Europawelle , where he worked as an editor, reporter and moderator. Since 2001 Dietz worked for the WDR in Cologne at 1 Live . Since the beginning of 2007 he has been moderating from Monday to Friday in double moderation with his colleague Christian Terhoeven , as well as partly on Monday evening in the program "1Live Elfer". After switching to WDR television and taking over the moderation of the program Current Hour on WDR television from September 7, 2015, Dietz gave up his moderation work at 1Live at the end of 2015. Since 2015 he can be heard on the radio at WDR 2 , mostly on weekends. On March 11, 2011, his non-fiction and specialist book Endlich Mitwisser! , which was released as an audio book on CD that same year . Since January 2018 Dietz has been running the podcast Reisen Reisen - Der Podcast together with the author Jochen Schliemann .
