Michael Eilfort

Michael Eilfort (born September 7, 1963 in Kiel ) is a German political scientist .

Life

Eilfort studied political science and Romance studies at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and at the Institut d'études politiques (IEP) in Paris. In 1985 in Tübingen he became a member of the Catholic student association AV Cheruskia Tübingen in the Cartell Association (CV) and the Federation for Environment and Nature Conservation (BUND) . In 1985 and 1986 he received several environmental prizes for the construction of a composite nature reserve. In 1993 he was in Tübingen with a study on the non-voters as a form of voting behavior and their abstention doctorate .

In 1992/1993 he was initially a speaker in the German Bundestag . From 1994 to 1996 Eilfort was parliamentary advisor in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg and from 1996 to 2000 head of division in the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg. In 2000 he took over the management of the office of the then parliamentary group leader Friedrich Merz in the German Bundestag.

Michael Eilfort has been chairman of the Market Economy Foundation / Frankfurt Institute since May 2004 .

In January 2005 he was appointed honorary professor at the University of Tübingen, where he was a lecturer for empirical social research from 1994 to 2004. He is also a lecturer in comparative government at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg and teaches at the Institute for Political Science in Tübingen.
