Michael Gorō Matsuura

Michael Gorō Matsuura ( Japanese ミ カ エ ル 松浦 悟 郎 , Mikaeru Matsuura Gorō ; born September 28, 1952 in Nagoya , Aichi Prefecture , Japan ) is Bishop of Nagoya .

Life

Michael Gorō Matsuura was ordained a priest on July 4, 1981 .

Pope John Paul II named him titular bishop of Sfasferia and auxiliary bishop in Osaka on April 19, 1999 . The Archbishop of Osaka, Leo Jun Ikenaga SJ , donated him episcopal ordination on July 17th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Paul Yoshinao Ōtsuka , Bishop of Kyoto , and Augustine Jun-ichi Nomura , Bishop of Nagoya .

On March 29, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Nagoya.
