Michael Krieter (born August 21, 1963 in Northeim ) is a former German handball goalkeeper . The trained businessman completed 95 international matches for the German national team. In the handball Bundesliga he came to 450 missions, where he was able to achieve four goals. He celebrated his greatest successes with the THW Kiel , with which he was four times German champion .

From 2003 Michael Krieter became the manager of SV Post Schwerin and went to Füchsen Berlin in the summer of 2005 , for whom he again guarded the goal for a few games. In the following years Krieter also played a few games for various clubs (2006 Eintracht Hildesheim, 2007 VfL Bad Schwartau , 2008 TSV Altenholz ). From 2010 he played with the Preetzer TSV in the Oberliga Hamburg - Schleswig-Holstein . Krieter later became team manager of the first team and ran for the third team. In addition, he coached the second team and was youth coordinator at Preetzer TSV. In September 2014 he was released from all duties.

From 2008 to 2009 Michael Krieter trained the male B-youth of SV Mönkeberg , in the season 2009/2010 he worked for the B-youth of the HSG Mönkeberg-Schönkirchen . In the 2015/16 season he coached SG HC Bremen / Hastedt. From February 20, 2017 to September 23, 2019 Michael Krieter was a trainer at HSG Horst / Kiebitzreihe (Schleswig-Holstein League).

His son Moritz also plays handball.
