Michael Nietsch

Michael Nietsch (born 1970) is a German legal scholar and holder of the chair for civil law, corporate law and capital market law at the EBS University of Economics and Law .

Life

After studying law and economics at the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Bonn and the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster with a semester abroad at the Università degli Studi di Bologna , he passed the first state examination in law in 1996. This was followed by a legal clerkship at the Cologne Higher Regional Court and the second state examination at the Düsseldorf Judicial Examination Office. Subsequently, Nietsch was a research assistant at the chair for civil law, German and international commercial law and labor law at the Technical University of Darmstadt under Uwe H. Schneider, in which he obtained his doctorate in 2003 with his thesis "International Insider Law". rerum politicarum received his doctorate.

This was followed by a time as a research assistant at the Institute for German and International Law of Savings, Giro and Credit Systems at Johannes Gutenberg University . In 2009 Nietsch completed his habilitation with a thesis on the "release procedure". In 2010 he taught as a guest lecturer in Valencia, before declining a call to the University of Witten-Herdecke in 2011 and being appointed to the EBS University of Economics and Law in Wiesbaden . He is head of the Center for Corporate Compliance at the EBS Law School, which was founded in 2014. and member of the “Compliance and Anti Corruption” working group of the Law Schools Global League, a worldwide network of law faculties.
