Michael Paul (born April 15, 1961 in Hanau ) is a former German handball player . He played in the left back space .

Michael Paul was discovered by his father Joachim Paul.

For the German national team , Paul played 32 international matches, in which he scored 72 goals (three of which were seven meters ). At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , he won the silver medal with the national team. In the tournament he played five games in which he threw 17 goals. Paul was injured a lot in his career. He was unable to take part in the 1982 and 1986 World Championships because of a finger damage or a serious shoulder injury.

With the TV Großwallstadt he was three times German champion .
