Michael Peter Holm

Michael Peter Holm (born September 2, 1936 in Stuttgart ; † March 31, 2009 in Münster ) was a German character actor who has appeared on numerous German state and municipal theaters since the 1950s.

Life and artistic work

Michael Peter Holm was born in Stuttgart to the actress Herta Schwarz and the chamber singer Richard Holm . From 1958 to 2008 he was continuously engaged on various German theaters, so u. a. in Hof , Oberhausen and Nuremberg , where he worked with the director Stavros Doufexis a . a. in Die Reiter ( The Knights ) by Aristophanes celebrated great successes. Later stations in his career were Bielefeld , Aachen , Hanover , Braunschweig and, from 1992 to 2008, Münster , where he was awarded the Audience Prize of the Theaterfreunde Münster several times. Michael Peter Holm was seen on stage in numerous leading roles. His star roles included Mephisto in Goethe's Faust , the double bass player in Süskind's Der Kontrabass , Willy Loman in Arthur Miller's drama Death of a Salesman and Minetti in Thomas Bernhard's play of the same name.

Most recently, Holm was seen as The Old Man in Eugène Ionesco's tragic farce The Chairs .
