Michael Praphon Chaicharoen

Michael Praphon Chaicharoen SDB ( Thai ไม เคิ ล ประพนธ์ ชัย เจริญ ; born May 7, 1930 in Hua Phai , Amphoe Phan Thong , Chon Buri province ; † May 20, 2003 ) was a Thai Catholic religious priest . He was Bishop of Surat Thani from 1988 until his death .

Life

Michael Praphon Chaicharoen joined the order of the Salesians of Don Bosco , made profession on February 24, 1949 and was ordained a priest on February 11, 1960 . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Surat Thani on June 21, 1988 .

The retired bishop of Surat Thani, Pietro Luigi Carretto SDB, ordained him on 24 September of the same year Bishop ; Co-consecrators were Alberto Tricarico , Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Singapore and Thailand and Apostolic Delegate in Laos and Malaysia , and Michael Michai Cardinal Kitbunchu , Archbishop of Bangkok .
