The Diocese of Surat Thani ( Latin : Dioecesis Suratthanensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese in Thailand .
The diocese was founded in 1969 by dividing the Ratchaburi diocese and is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Bangkok as a suffragan . It covers the entire south of Thailand up to and including the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan on the Isthmus of Kra . The region was evangelized by the Don Bosco Salesians who arrived here in 1930.
