Michael Robert Rhein (born May 18, 1964 in Dingelstädt ), known by the stage name Das letzte Einhorn , is a German singer and musician . He is the founder and singer of the German medieval rock band In Extremo .

Life

Rhein grew up in Leinefelde in Thuringia and started making music at the age of 12. In 1983 Rhein founded the rock band “No. 13 ”, renamed“ Einschlag ”in 1985 after a ban on performing in the former GDR . After another ban in 1987, Rhein founded the band "Noah" under the stage name Robert Rain with the same line-up as No. 13 and Einschlag.

From 1990 the Rhine began to visit medieval markets. In 1992 he founded "Pullarius Furcillo" together with the artist Teufel ( Corvus Corax ) and the musician Bo, which performed medieval music and jugglers' pieces. After Bo's death, Pullarius Furcillo existed widely as a duo.

After the end of the 1995 season, Teufel returned to Corvus Corax. Together with Conny Fuchs and Flex the flexible, Rhein founded the formation In Extremo , which made acoustic music from the Middle Ages. In 1998 Noah and In Extremo were officially merged to In Extremo.

For the band's two-year birthday concert, Rhein suffered severe burns during a fire-breathing show in the Mannheim Capitol . Two months later, however, he was able to play again.

To date, Rhein has released twelve studio albums with In Extremo and has been a guest singer with various bands. In 2004 he worked in the film Children of the Night as a member of the "Council of Vampires".

Michael Robert Rhein is married and has several children. His daughter can be seen in the video of the single Horizont . He lives in the Bergheim district of Quadrath-Ichendorf.
