Michael Vitzthum (born June 20, 1992 in Bad Tölz ) is a German soccer player .

Career

Vitzthum played for SV Warngau from the age of three to nine and moved to FC Bayern Munich in 2001 , where he played in the youth teams until 2010.

For the 2010/11 season he moved to SpVgg Unterhaching , for whose second team he was initially used twelve times in the fifth-class Bayernliga . On October 16, 2010 (12th matchday) he made his debut at the age of 18 in the 3rd division when he was substituted on for Roman Tyce in the 1: 1 draw of the first team in the home game against Kickers Offenbach in the 74th minute . He scored his first professional goal on February 19, 2011 (25th matchday) in a 3-0 win against FC Hansa Rostock .

After two seasons he switched to league rivals VfB Stuttgart II . For the 2013/14 season , Vitzthum was loaned by VfB to Karlsruher SC without a purchase option , after his contract had previously been extended by one year. In the summer of 2014 he moved to the second division 1. FC Heidenheim .

In May 2015 he signed a contract with SV Wehen Wiesbaden that was valid until June 30, 2017 . After the 2016/17 season, he did not receive a new contract offer from SV Wehen Wiesbaden and then switched to league rivals SG Sonnenhof Großaspach .

National team

On July 27, 2009 Vitzthum made his debut in the U18 national team , which lost 3-2 in Ballymena against the Northern Irish U20 team. He made his second appearance in the U18 team - also in Ballymena - in a 5-0 victory over the Bulgarian U20 team four days later. He made his debut in the U21 national team on August 13, 2013 in Freiburg in a goalless draw against France , replacing Marvin Plattenhardt in the second half.
