Michael Vollstedt

Michael Vollstedt (* 24. March 1942 in Hamburg , † 29. June 2020 in Munich ) was a Major General of the Air Force of the Armed Forces .

Vollstedt completed the 18th general staff course (L) as a major from 1973 to 1975 at the command academy of the Federal Armed Forces (FüAkBw) in Hamburg, where he was awarded the General Heusinger Prize in 1975 as the best in the course. Then he was appointed lieutenant colonel i. G. used in the command staff of the Luftwaffe (Fü L III) in Bonn . After further stations he was used as a colonel from 1987 to 1989 as commander of the anti-aircraft missile regiment 3. He then received another troop command and was in command of anti-aircraft missile command 1 in Heide until 1990 . From 1993 to 1994 he was Deputy Chief of Operations and Logistics at HQ Allied Forces Central Europe (AFCENT) in Brunssum . Another troop command followed until 1997, as commander of the 2nd Air Force Division in Birkenfeld . Vollstedt then served as Vice Chairman of the NATO Air Defense Committee in Brussels . Most recently he was Commander Combined Air Operations Center 4 in Meßstetten .
