Michel Carré (librettist)
Michel Carré (born October 20, 1821 in Besançon , Doubs department , † June 27, 1872 in Argenteuil , Val-d'Oise department ) was a French librettist .
Life
Carré comes from a family of artists; he was u. a. the father of the director Michel Carré and uncle of the actor Albert Carré .
reception
Carré created a variety of librettos, most of them in collaboration with Jules Barbier . But Carré was also able to publish his own plays; however not as successful as the former.
