Michel Roger (born March 9, 1949 in Poitiers , France ) was Minister of State (French ministre d'état ) and thus head of government of the Principality of Monaco . He is a French citizen . The independent lawyer succeeded the late Jean-Paul Proust .

Life

From 1970 to 1973 Roger worked as a lawyer . In the following years he worked as a technical advisor in the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Planning and Regional Planning. He then worked from 1981 as a lecturer at the University of Poitiers . In 1984, Roger became director of the École du Center-Ouest des avocats and the Institute for Legal Study at the Poitiers Law School. In 1986 he was initially a consultant in the office of the Minister for National Education and then from 1987 to 1988 his chief of staff. From 1992 to 1998 he was advisor to the President of the Senate and from 2002 to 2005 he was advisor in the cabinet of Jean-Pierre Raffarin . From March 29, 2010 to December 16, 2015, he held the post of Prime Minister of Monaco . In January 2016 he was awarded the Order of Friendship .
