Raymond Le Bourdon

Raymond Joseph Marie Le Bourdon (born March 18, 1861 in Châteauneuf-du-Faou , Département Finistère , † September 22, 1937 ) was a French government official who was prefect of various departments and between 1919 and 1923 Minister of State of Monaco .

Life

Le Bourdon entered government service on February 1, 1887 and was head of cabinet of the prefect of the Finistère department , councilor in the prefecture of the Eure-et-Loir department and the Loiret department . He then served as sub-prefect of the canton of Gien and the canton of Dinan and then as general secretary of the prefecture of the Seine-et-Marne department . He was then sub-prefect of the canton of Autun, sub-prefect of the Vendée and the Eure-et-Loir department.

He became Prefect of the Department of Manche on October 28, 1911 and held this position until 1913. On July 24, 1912, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Legion of Honor . He then became Prefect of the Indre-et-Loire Department in 1913 and remained in this position until 1919. On February 3, 1919, he was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Legion of Honor for his services there . He was then also briefly as the successor to André Chapron from January 22, 1919 until his replacement by Louis Thibon on February 20, 1919 Prefect of the Marne department .

On February 19, 1919, Le Bourdon finally replaced Georges Jaloustre as Minister of State of Monaco and remained in this position until August 11, 1923, when Maurice Piette succeeded him.
