Michele Castoro (born January 14, 1952 in Altamura ; † May 5, 2018 in San Giovanni Rotondo ) was Archbishop of Manfredonia-Vieste-San Giovanni Rotondo .

Life

Michele Castoro was ordained a priest on August 6, 1977 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Oria on May 14, 2005 . The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops and President of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America , Giovanni Battista Cardinal Re , donated him episcopal ordination on June 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Marcello Semeraro , Bishop of Albano , and Mario Paciello , Bishop of Altamura-Gravina-Acquaviva delle Fonti . As a motto he chose In nomine Iesu .

On July 15, 2009 he was by Benedict XVI. appointed Archbishop of Manfredonia - Vieste - San Giovanni Rotondo and introduced to the office on September 19 of the same year. He was also General Director of the International Association of Prayer and Work Groups of Padre Pio.
