Franco Moscone
Franco Moscone CRS (born December 10, 1957 in Alba , Province of Cuneo , Italy ) is an Italian religious and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Manfredonia-Vieste-San Giovanni Rotondo .
Life
Franco Moscone joined the Congregation of somaschi fathers at and initially completed a preparatory course in San Mauro Torinese . This was followed by the novitiate in Somasca and a year of practice at the Colegio San Fermín in Caldas de Reis in Spain as well as the post-novitiate in the Casa di Sant'Alessio all'Aventino in Rome . Moscone then studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Papal Athenaeum Sant'Anselmo . He put on 26 September 1982, the perpetual profession from and received on 16 June 1984 in Alba, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
From 1983 Franco Moscone was an instructor in the religious office in San Mauro Torinese. In 1991 he obtained a degree in literature from the University of Turin . From 1992 to 1995, Moscone worked as a teacher at the Collegio Emiliani in Nervi before he was sent to Poland , where on September 1, 1995, he became Superior of the Order in Toruń . In 2000 he became director of the Collegio Emiliani in Nervi. Franco Moscone was elected Vicar Provincial of the Province of Liguria - Piedmont in 2002 and Vicar General of his religious community in 2005 . Since March 2008, Franco Moscone was the Somasker's superior general .
On November 3, 2018, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Manfredonia-Vieste-San Giovanni Rotondo. The Bishop of Alba , Marco Brunetti , ordained him episcopal on January 12 of the following year in the Cathedral of Alba . Co- consecrators were the retired Bishop of Toruń , Andrzej Suski , and the Archbishop of Otranto , Donato Negro . The inauguration in Manfredonia took place on January 26, 2019.
