Michelle Wu (born March 3, 1983 in Sydney ) is a former Australian duathlete and triathlete .

Career

She has been trained by Ben Gathercole since 2004 .

In 2006 she was third in her age group in the triathlon at the world championships on the short distance. In 2007 Michelle Wu became Australian Duathlon Champion. In June 2008 she was triathlon world champion on the Olympic distance in the age group 25-29.

Michelle Wu started as a professional triathlete in 2009 and now lives in Canberra . As part of the Ironman 70.3 World Championship 2010 , she was able to record three wins.

In August 2013 she started the Ironman Japan for the first time on the Ironman distance (3.86 km swimming, 180.2 km cycling and 42.195 km running) and finished second.

In 2015 she struggled with health problems in her back and has not appeared internationally since.
