The Michelsbach is an approximately eight kilometers long, left tributary of the Ahr in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

The Michelsbach rises in the Oberbusch forest area between the Leudersdorf district of the community of Üxheim and the community of Wiesbaum near the district road 69 at an altitude of approx. 519  m above sea level. NHN . The source is located in the Rhineland-Palatinate community of Üxheim in the Vulkaneifel district . From here the stream flows northeast along the border between Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia to Leudersdorf through the Michelsbach, Ahbach and Aulbach nature reserve with tributaries . Now the brook swings to the north, west of Uedelhoven and flows there at about 342  m above sea level into the Ahr flowing from the north-west of the Rhine .

Catchment area and tributaries

The difference in altitude of 177 meters on the 8.3 km long path of the stream corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 21 ‰. The 10.6 km² catchment area drains via the Ahr and Rhine to the North Sea .
