Leudersdorf is part of the Üxheim community in the Gerolstein community in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . Until January 1, 1968, Leudersdorf (with Flesten and Nollendorf) was an independent municipality.

Leudersdorf from the east

The place with around 500 inhabitants (status: 2005) is 1 km west of Üxheim in the Eifel . The state border with North Rhine-Westphalia runs 1 km to the northwest. Leudersdorf is a residential community with some agriculture and 18 handicraft businesses. The clubs include a theater club, a music club, a rural women’s club, a choir and the volunteer fire brigade .

history

The place was first mentioned in the year 855. It was incorporated into Üxheim in 1968.

Until the end of the 18th century, Leudersdorf belonged to the imperial direct rule of Kerpen , which was owned by the Dukes of Arenberg .

Volunteer Fire Brigade Leudersdorf (FFL)

Between 1890 and 1891 the FFL was founded, which took the necessary extinguishing water either from the well or from the extinguishing water pond (d´r Weier) that was filled in in 1905. Supported by the Rheinische Provinzial Feuerversicherungsanstalt , a mobile hand syringe was purchased on the occasion of a fire in 1893. There were four fire chiefs by 1933 and one more fire chief until 1953. A TSA was acquired in the 1950s and a TSF in 1968 .
