Mick Pointer (born July 22, 1956 ) is a British drummer and was a founding member of the progressive rock band Marillion . He was released in 1983 after the release of the band's first studio album Script for a Jester's Tear and replaced by Ian Mosley after attempts with several drummers .

In 1995 Pointer founded the band Arena with Clive Nolan , in which he still plays today.
