Attractions

The medieval structure of the town center has been preserved. The huddled cluster of houses was surrounded by fortifications.

An original church Sainte-Marie was first mentioned in 1156 in a bull of Pope Hadrian IV († 1159). That building was integrated into the fortification system of the village in the 14th century. The church was looted during the Huguenot Wars (1562–1598) and repaired in the 17th century. In 1703 it was sacked and set on fire by the Camisards under the leadership of Jean Cavalier (1681–1740). In 1759 a new bell tower was built. Services were not held during the French Revolution and the church was returned to the Roman Catholic Church on August 6, 1800 . Regular services took place again from 1807. In 1949 the church was entered in the supplementary directory of the Monuments historiques (historical monuments).

Quaker cemetery

The meeting house of the Quakers was built in 1822 in the classicism style and was used until 1907. The Quaker cemetery was established in the garden of the building and was in use from 1830 to 1890. During the First World War (1914-1918) the building was converted into a military hospital. It has served as a residential building since 1954.
