Sauzet ( Occitan : Sauset ) is a French commune with 747 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gard department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Languedoc-Roussillon ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Nîmes and the canton of Calvisson (until 2015: canton of Saint-Chaptes ). The inhabitants are called Sauzetiers .

geography

Sauzet is located about 18 kilometers north-northeast of the city center of Nîmes and about 20 kilometers south-southeast of Alès . The neighboring municipalities of Sauzet are Brignon in the north, Moussac in the northeast, Saint-Chaptes in the east, Saint-Geniès-de-Malgoirès in the south, Domessargues in the west and Boucoiran-et-Nozières in the northwest.
