geography
The Gardon flows through the municipality and is crossed a little further west by the Pont du Gard .

history
The area was already settled in prehistoric times. The Grotte de la Salpêtrière is located near the Pont du Gard and was inhabited around 19,000 years ago. Celts and Romans also left their mark.
