geography

The municipality is located seven kilometers from the Pont du Gard and 23 kilometers from Uzès . The nearest large cities are Arles and Avignon , each 20 kilometers away, as well as nearby Nîmes .

history

There are still many traces of Roman times, including graves and furniture. In the church there is an altar from the 5th or 6th century. In the Middle Ages, the community was dependent on the Marquis of Monteynard ( Département Isère ). The castle of the village was plundered by the Protestants in 1562 during the Huguenot Wars .
