Lecques ( Occitan : Lècas ) is a French commune with 470 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gard department in the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Nîmes and the canton of Calvisson (until 2015: canton of Sommières ). The inhabitants are called Lecquois .

geography

Lecques is located about 23 kilometers west of Nîmes and about 29 kilometers north-northeast of Montpellier . In the east, the Vidourle delimits the municipality. Lecques is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Orthoux-Sérignac-Quilhan in the north, Vic-le-Fesq in the north and northeast, Fontanès in the east, Salinelles in the south and Gailhan in the west.
