Saint-Quentin was given the suffix La Poterie ( the pottery ) in 1886 by a decree of President Jules Grévy to distinguish it from the 142 other French villages with the name of Saint-Quentin. After a period of decline, pottery has been brought back to life since 1983 and displayed in a Musée de la Poterie Méditerranéenne .
