Vénéjan ( identical Occitan ) is a French commune with 1,246 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gard department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Languedoc-Roussillon ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Nîmes and the canton of Pont-Saint-Esprit (until 2015: canton of Bagnols-sur-Cèze ).

Vénéjan is located about 48 kilometers north-northeast of Nîmes and about eleven kilometers west-northwest of Orange . Vénéjan is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Alexandre in the north and north-west, Mondragon in the north-east, Mornas in the east, Saint-Étienne-des-Sorts in the east and south-east, Bagnols-sur-Cèze in the south and Saint-Gervais in the west.

Wine is produced here for the Côtes du Rhône appellation .
