Verfeuil ( Occitan : Verdfuèlh ) is a French commune with 600 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gard department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Nîmes and the canton of Pont-Saint-Esprit (until 2015: canton of Lussan ). The inhabitants are called Verfeuillois .
geography
Verfeuil is located about 29 kilometers east-northeast of Alès and about 38 kilometers northeast of Nîmes . The Cèze river limits the municipality to the north. The neighboring municipalities of Verfeuil are Goudargues in the north, Cornillon and La Roque-sur-Cèze in the northeast, Saint-André-d'Olérargues in the east, Saint-Marcel-de-Careiret in the east and southeast, Saint-Laurent-la-Vernède in the South and southeast, Fontarèches in the south and Lussan in the west.
