The Circuit de Lédenon

Lédenon is a French commune with 1,556 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gard department of the Occitanie region . There is a library in the community with almost 5,000 books. In general, the community is more agricultural. The Circuit de Lédenon , a race track the village is known for, doesn't fit that picture.

Lédenon is about 18 kilometers northeast of Nîmes , near the A9 .

Circuit de Lédenon

The construction of the racetrack was decided in 1970 by two motorsport fans. On June 16, 1973, the Circuit de Lédenon was officially approved. The first major races took place in 1977. A total of 38 speed changes are necessary on the route.

Despite its location, which would have favored membership of the Pont du Gard or Uzège municipal associations, the municipality decided to join the Nîmes Métropole municipal association .
