Mickey Bastings (born February 14, 1992 in Tilburg ) is a Dutch ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Tilburg Trappers again since 2010 and has played with the club in the German Oberliga Nord since 2015 .

Career

Clubs

Mickey Bastings began his career in the junior division of the Tilburg Trappers from his hometown, in whose second men's team he played in the Eerste divisie , the second highest Dutch division, as a 15-year-old . In the 2008/09 season he played for the Iserlohner EC in the German Junior League . He then moved to Canada, where he was trained at the traditional Banff Hockey Academy and played for the Banff Bears, the academy's team. In 2010 he returned to the Tilburg Trappers, for whom he initially played in the honor division . In 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015 he won the Dutch ice hockey cup with his home club and also the championship in 2014 and 2015 . After these successes, he moved to the German Oberliga Nord with the Trappers and won the German Oberliga Championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

International

For the Netherlands Bastings took part in the Division II games of the 2009 U18 World Cup and the 2010 , 2011 and 2012 U20 World Cup when he was voted the best player on his team.

With the Dutch men's national team , he took part in the World Championships in Division I in 2011 and 2012 and in Division II in 2018 . He also represented his colors in qualifying for the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
