Miguel Maria de Sá Pais do Amaral, 4th Count of Alferrarede (born July 31, 1954 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese nobleman, entrepreneur and racing car driver .

Entrepreneur

Miguel Amaral comes from a Portuguese aristocratic family and studied mechanical engineering at Insead . In 1995 he founded Media Capital , a media company owned by broadcasters . These included the television station Televisão Independente as well as the radio stations Rádio Comercial and M80 Radio, among others . In 2005, the entrepreneurs, which also includes the sale of rights was by the 20th Century Fox and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer had for Portugal, the media group PRISA sold.

In 2007 he founded the Quifel Group , an investment company that operates in different segments in Europe and South America .

Racing career

Miguel Amaral's driving career began in 2004 in the Spanish GT Championship . He also made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans that year . From 2006 he became a regular starter in the European Le Mans Series . His best placings in this racing series were second overall in the 1000 km race in Jarama in 2006 and in the 1000 km race at the Hungaroring in 2010 , where he drove a Ginetta-Zytek 09S together with Olivier Pla . In 2009 he won the LMP2 final of the series.

In six outings at the Le Mans 24-hour race , the best placings were 20th overall positions in 2008 and 2010 .
