Mikael Bertil Dyrestam (born December 10, 1991 in Växjö ) is a Swedish football player . The defender , who in 2013 with IFK Gothenburg the Swedish National Cup won, debuted in 2012 in the Swedish national team .

Career

Dyrestam went through the various youth teams of IFK Gothenburg. As a 17-year-old, he made his debut for the club in the Allsvenskan in July 2009 and subsequently established himself in the club's defensive ranks - in his debut season he played 17 league games until the end of the season and was thus decisively involved in the runner-up behind AIK , parallel he played in the Swedish U-18 national team . In preparation for the 2010 season, he injured his cruciate ligament in February and ultimately missed the entire season. After his return for the following season he was again a regular player for long periods. On the one hand, he was then appointed to the U-21 national team, on the other hand, national coach Erik Hamrén considered him as one of nine U-21 players for his January 2012 tour in the senior national team. He made his debut against Bahrain on January 18, 2012 as a substitute for Pontus Jansson shortly before the end of the game in the national jersey, in the 5-0 victory over Qatar five days later he was in the starting line-up and formed the defensive line with Emil Salomonsson , Erdin Demir and Markus Holgersson .

In late March 2012, Dyrestam injured his knee again, but returned in May. After renewed problems with the knee muscles at the end of May, he failed again for a longer period. In the 2013 season he was a regular again under coach Mikael Stahre and reached the cup final against Stockholm's league rivals Djurgårdens IF in the summer . After goals from Tobias Hysén for IFK and Daniel Amartey for DIF in regular time, the game ended with a 1-1 penalty shoot-out . There he was one of the most accurate shooters, so that the club won the title for the sixth time in the club's history with a 3-1 win.
