Karl Emil Salomonsson (born April 28, 1989 ) is a Swedish football player . The defensive player, who won the Swedish National Cup with IFK Göteborg in 2013 , made his debut for the Swedish national team in 2011 .
Career
Salomonsson began playing football at Ekets GoIF , which he left as a youth player in 2004 for Ängelholms FF . At the third division he quickly became a regular player from 2006 and was subsequently traded with several first division clubs. At the end of 2007, meanwhile, he rose with the team in the second-rate Superettan . In April 2008, the first division team Halmstads BK finally committed the player to the summer. Ultimately, he stayed on loan until the end of the season at Ängelholms FF, where he led the promoted team to the Allsvenskan as a regular with 28 games this season . As fifth in the table, three points are missing at the end of the season to reach the relegation place to the highest league.
Salomonsson also quickly became a regular at his new club. At the side of players like Tomas Žvirgždauskas , Magnus Bahne , Mikael Rosén and Michael Görlitz , he slipped with the team in the relegation battle, the 2010 season ended the club in twelfth place. Nevertheless, the youth international had also convinced national coach Erik Hamrén , who took him on the international tour of the Swedish national team to South Africa in early 2011. There he made his debut on January 22nd in a 1-1 draw against a South African national team consisting of players from the local Premier Soccer League through goals from Tiyane Mabunda and Tobias Hysén in the national team.
In the following season the club was at the bottom of the table right from the start, but at the end of the summer transfer period Salomonsson left the club for IFK Göteborg . Under the coaching duo Stefan Rehn and Jonas Olsson he played in six games until the end of the season, under their successor Mikael Stahre he was a regular on the defensive from the 2012 season. After a seventh place, the club played temporarily for the championship the following season. In the summer, the team reached the cup final against Djurgårdens IF , where he was in the starting line-up. In the second half he was substituted for Daniel Lopes Silva , so he followed the decision in favor of his club on penalties off the field. At the same time, he reached third place in the Allsvenskan with the club.
At the end of 2018, Salomonsson moved to Japan to join Sanfrecce Hiroshima . The club from Hiroshima played in the highest Japanese league, the J1 League . In 2019 he made 19 top division appearances. The 2020 season he was loaned to the second division Avispa Fukuoka in Fukuoka .
