Michael "Mike" Duxbury (born September 1, 1959 in Accrington , Lancashire ) is a retired English football player .

Career

Club career

Duxbury began his career as a left-back for Everton FC . In 1975 he was signed by Manchester United . He made his debut on August 23, 1980, where he came on for Kevin Moran against Birmingham City . During this time he played mostly in the central defender position . He won the FA Cup for the first time with Manchester United in 1983, beating Brighton & Hove Albion in the two finals . In 1985 he won the FA Cup for the second time when the "Red Devils" were able to prevail against Everton FC. After the third FA Cup victory in 1990 against Crystal Palace , Duxbury moved to the end of the season because of too little playing time for the Blackburn Rovers .

His next station was Bradford City . In 1994 he moved to China to join Golden , before returning to England in 1996 and joining Accrington Stanley , only to retire soon afterwards.

National team

For the English U-21 national team , he completed seven international matches between 1980 and 1982, where he was able to score one goal. For the England A team , he played ten games between 1982 and 1984.

Private life

After retiring, he coached Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers' school football programs in Hong Kong and Dubai . He was also active as a PE teacher at the Bolton School in Bolton .
