Michael "Mike" Wainwright (born July 25, 1973 in Worcester ) is a British businessman and racing driver .

Business activity

Mike Wainwright studied actuarial mathematics at Southampton Solent University and joined Trafigura in 1996 as an oil and commodities trader , where he held various functions in the years that followed. In 2008 he was promoted to the Trafigura Management Board as Chief Operating Officer.

Career in motorsport

2010 Mike Wainwright began as gentlemen drivers with the GT - and sports car racing . He drove his first races in the French GT championship and the FIA GT3 European championship . From 2011 he competed for Gulf Racing in the European Le Mans Series and the International GT Open . In 2011 he also made his debuts at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring .
