history
In the 14th century a castle was mentioned in the place. In the 16th century the aristocratic Kaplíř ze Sulevic family built a smaller Renaissance castle with towers on the highest rock. Today this block-like building with a polygonal bastion is on the north side of the castle. In the years 1662–1667, Kaspar Kaplíř had a new three-wing castle built according to a design by Antonio della Porta . The baroque garden pavilion was built in 1707. At the end of the Second World War, the lord of the castle, Count Eugen Ledebur, was arrested by Czechs and murdered in Theresienstadt. The population of the then market town of Milleschau was forcibly expelled as part of the expulsion of the Germans from Czechoslovakia .
In 1991 the place had 311 inhabitants. In 2001 the village consisted of 109 houses in which 366 people lived.
Today the castle is used as a retirement home.
