Milica Jovanovic

Milica Jovanović (born June 2, 1983 in Dülmen ) is a German-Serbian singer and musical performer .

Life

After graduating from high school, Jovanović completed the musical diploma course under Victoria Hall at the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding in Munich and was a scholarship holder at the Royal Academy of Music in London .

Even during her studies she sang at the Munich State Theater on Gärtnerplatz . After graduating, she became a soloist in the ensemble and sang in various operas and musicals, including Papagena in the Magic Flute and Eliza in My Fair Lady .

After five years at the Gärtnerplatztheater, Jovanović began her work as a freelance singer. She played Magnolia in Show Boat at the Bad Hersfeld Festival , Betty Schaefer in Sunset Boulevard in Magdeburg and the leading role in Evita at the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden .

In 2013 she played the role of Christine in the German-language premiere of the musical Love Never Dies by Andrew Lloyd Webber at Ronacher Vienna . In the summer of 2014 she appeared as alternating Kate in Kiss Me, Kate at the Bad Hersfeld Festival , directed by Stefan Huber . She then played Winifred Banks in the German-language premiere of Mary Poppins at the United Theaters in Vienna . In the summer of 2016 she was seen at the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg as Guinevere in Artus - Excalibur . She then got the leading female role of Eleonore Schikaneder in Schikaneder , a musical in-house production by the United Bühnen Wien . For the summer of 2017 Jovanovic got the role of "I" in Rebecca at the Freilichtspiele Tecklenburg ; the following year she played "Fantine" in Les Misérables there .

Jovanović has been awarded various prizes, including first place at the MUT competition in Klagenfurt and the Walter Kaminsky Prize at the national singing competition.
