occupation

Militia is an American action film directed by Jim Wynorski in 2000 .

action

Ethan Carter is a secret agent for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). He is said to operate undercover to subvert a right-wing radical brotherhood. The Brotherhood is planning a rocket attack at a meeting of NATO governments.

William Fain, arrested by Carter two years ago and in prison, was an active member of the Brotherhood. He is supposed to smuggle Carter in, for which ATF promises him a reunification with the family allegedly killed in the attack by government forces on a Brotherhood property. The family lives and is hidden in a secret place.

ATF agent Julie Sanders oversees the operation. In her car she follows the men who are driving to a brotherhood meeting.

Carter is recognized on the way. Brotherhood members chase and shoot at his car. He and Fain jump out of the car, which drives into a shed and explodes. The persecutors think the men are dead.

Fain and Carter sneak up to the place where the Brotherhood members meet. Fain hands Carter over to the Brotherhood and is warmly greeted by the leader.

Reviews

Scott Weinberg wrote in the Apollo Guide that the film " surprisingly " addresses serious issues such as gun control and government invasion of privacy. However, this is often interrupted by gunfire and explosions. The role of Stacy Keach is too similar to his role in American History X. The film offers nothing new.

background

The film was shot in Los Angeles and Acton, Los Angeles County . The director Jim Wynorski appears in the credits under the pseudonym Jay Andrews .
