Create

Ransdorf published a number of books and translations on Czech history and social development in the 20th century. His scientific work can be classified into two categories: history of philosophy and ideology. In his work Kapitoly z geneze husitské ideologie he analyzes the philosophical and theological thoughts of the reformers John Wyclif , Jan Hus , Jakoubek ze Stříbra and Jan Želivský using the manuscripts and source books .

He dealt with the Reformation in the books Chebský soudce a reformační dějinné myšlení , Vztah Prahy a Tábora v bádání o Jakoubkovi ze Stříbra and Mistr Jan Hus . The book Z myšlenkového světa reformace , published in 1989 , is dedicated to Calvinism , Puritanism and Lutheranism . Ransdorf was interested in the connection between the socially critical and the rational ideological world of thought of the modern age. In the study Hledali spravedlivější svět he explored the ideology of the modern revolutions and their effects on the development of human rights. He dealt with Erasmus and Luther , Jefferson and Madison, among others .

In Nové čtení Marxe , the second part of which appeared in 2007, he analyzed the categorized world of thought of Karl Marx and examined not only the dynamics of capitalism , but also reasons for the failure of the Soviet experiment in the period from Lenin to Gorbachev .

He examines the history of antiquity and the beginning of Christianity in Pojetí času u kappadockých otců , in which he examines the conceptions of time and the philosophy of Plato , Aristotle and Plotinus .

He has translated books from German, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Dutch.

Controversy

Ransdorf first hit the headlines in 2006 when he bought counterfeit works of art.

The European Parliament lifted his immunity in 2008 because of a traffic accident in Prague-Dejvice in June 2007, in which Ransdorf hit a pedestrian while telephoning on a pedestrian crossing and left her slightly injured. In July 2008, Ransdorf drove another pedestrian on Karlovarská ul. In Prague, who suffered minor head injuries.

Ransdorf had to take the oath of disclosure in 2012 because of unsecured guarantees in the amount of 700,000 crowns for his partner Vratislav Šlajer, who had failed with various villa construction projects.

Like other parliamentarians, Ransdorf was filmed in 2013 when he only briefly entered the building of the EU Parliament and left it again after a few minutes. When asked whether he had only entered himself on the attendance list in order to collect the daily allowance for MPs in the amount of 300 euros, the politician was brutalized against the Dutch journalist.

On December 3, 2015, Ransdorf tried to withdraw 350 million euros from a Swiss bank in Zurich with forged papers and together with three Slovaks. The attempted fraud was noticed and the politician and his companions were arrested for two days. His attempts to explain after the fact were not convincing.
