The Rokycany – Nezvěstice railway is a regional railway connection in the Czech Republic , the two sections of which were originally built by the Miröschau Coal Union and the Imperial and Royal Bohemian Commercial Railways (BCB). It runs from Rokycany ( Rokitzan ) via Mirošov ( Miröschau ) to Nezvěstice ( Nezwěstitz ).
According to a decree of the Czech government, the line has been classified as a regional railway ("regionální dráha") since December 20, 1995.
history
The Rokitzan – Miröschau section was opened on May 27, 1869 as the mining railway of the Miröschau coal union. It connected the hard coal mines near Miröschau, Margarethaschacht, Leopoldinenschacht, Friedrichschacht and Gustavschacht with the main line of the Bohemian Western Railway near Rockitzan. The operator of the line, also known as the Miröschauer trade railway, was the kk priv. Böhmische Westbahn (BWB).
The concession for the local railway Nezvěstitz – Miröschau was given to the founders of BCB, the contractors Johann Muzika and Karl Schnabel on May 9, 1881 together with the lines Königgrätz – Wostroměř , Sadowa – Smiřic , Nimburg – Jičín , Křinec – Königstadtl , Kopidlno – Libaň and Nusle – Modřan . Part of the concession was the obligation to “ complete the routes and hand them over to public transport ” by September 1, 1882 . The concession was issued until May 8, 1971. The line was opened on July 1, 1882. The BCB carried out the operation itself. Passenger traffic over the entire Rokitzan – Nezvěstitz line began on June 15, 1889.
In 1912 the timetable of the local railway indicated five mixed pairs of 2nd and 3rd class trains between Rockitzan and Miröschau Stadt, one of which was connected to Nezwěstitz. There was another pair of trains on the Miröschau – Nezwěstitz route. They needed about 1.5 hours for the 27-kilometer route.
During the Second World War , the route lay entirely in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . The operators were now the Protectorate Railways Bohemia and Moravia (ČMD-BMB). On May 9, 1945, the entire line came back to the ČSD.
On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia . Since 2003 it has been part of the network of the state infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).
In the 2012 timetable, the route is served daily every two hours by passenger trains on the Rokycany – Příkosice and Příkosice – Nezvěstice routes. On weekdays, additional trains condense the offer, sometimes at hourly intervals.
