Miroslav Škovira (born November 7, 1973 in Levoča , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak ice hockey player who has been under contract with SG Pontebba in the Italian A1 series since the end of January 2013 .
Career
Škovira began his career in the 1991/92 season at ŠKP PS Poprad in what was then the Czechoslovak League. In 1991, 1992 and 1993 he was a member of the U18 and U20 Czechoslovak national ice hockey team . With two exceptions, in 2000/01 he played a season in the Italian National League A with HC Bozen and in 2003/04 a season in the British elite league with Manchester Phoenix , he continues to play for HK Poprad in the Slovak Extra League . In February 2007 he was signed by the Krefeld Penguins for the German Ice Hockey League until the end of the season .
Miroslav Skovira was under contract with the Swiss agency Highflyer Sports Management, which also brought him to the DEL in Krefeld. However, he stayed there only a few months and only completed seven DEL games. He then moved back to the Slovak Extraliga, where he was consequently on the ice for his former club, HK Poprad. For the 2007/08 season, those in charge of league rivals MHK SkiPark Kežmarok were able to convince him of a commitment in Kežmarok . For the 2009/10 season he moved to his ex-club ŠKP PS Poprad within the Slovakian extra league.
At the end of January 2013 he moved to Italy, where he signed with SG Pontebba from the A1 series .
