Miroslav Štěpánek (born January 15, 1990 ) is a Czech football player on the position of a defender .

Club career

Miroslav Štěpánek began his football career at SK Sigma Olomouc . In 2006 he moved to Germany for Hamburger SV , where he was first used by the juniors and then by the club's U-19 team. There the defender made the leap into the professional squad in summer 2008.

In August 2008 he was loaned to the Austrian Bundesliga club Kapfenberger SV in order to be able to collect match practice. Štěpánek made his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga on September 27, 2008 in the Falken's away game against LASK Linz . With the Kapfenberg team he made eleven league appearances and traveled back to Germany after the end of the season.

Through various cruciate ligament injuries, Štěpánek was repeatedly thrown back in the past. Only on October 30, 2011 could Štěpánek celebrate his comeback in the second team of HSV in the 2-4 away defeat against TSV Havelse . His contract was not renewed at the end of the 2011/12 season. He then moved to Slovakia for the first division club FK Senica . From January 2013 he played for MSV Duisburg II in the Regionalliga West . In the summer of 2013 he went to Eintracht Norderstedt . After a year he moved to SpVgg Grün-Weiß Deggendorf . After another year he moved to VfB Straubing, which he left during the winter break for FC Otterskirchen , a club from the Passau district class . After eight games and two goals in the spring of 2016, his involvement there ended. He then moved to neighboring Austria for SK Schärding and after one season to also Schärding based ATSV Schärding , where he was for two seasons running, subsequently.

In June 2019, SV Fürstenstein from the A-Class Eging announced the commitment of the former professional footballer.
