Mission Hollywood was a German casting show on RTL with Til Schweiger as the presenter, which was looking for a suitable young actress in eight parts for a role in the third part of the Hollywood film The Twilight Saga: - " Eclipse - Bis (s) zum Abendrot ".

Sequence of events

In the first part of a series, exercises were usually completed (for example to improve American pronunciation) and certain tasks were set. One candidate could already safely advance into the next episode. There were also small roles in films or series to be won (for example in Doctor's Diary ). The most important part of the program was the shooting of a demo tape , with short excerpts from well-known films being played. In the end, the three-person jury decided who had to leave the show. Initially, three (or two) wobbly candidates were determined who were allowed to present themselves an additional time, for example by giving an Oscar acceptance speech. One of them eventually dropped out.

jury

  • The first juror was the presenter and actor Til Schweiger .
  • The second juror was acting coach Bernard Hiller , who also led some training sessions on the programs.
  • The third juror switched from broadcast to broadcast.

Odds

After an initial market share of 25.5 percent in the first three editions among young female audiences between 14 and 29 years of age, this continued to decline. In the third episode, the show only had a market share of 11.5 percent among the broader audience between 14 and 49 years of age and was therefore moved from prime time on Monday evening to Saturday afternoon after the third episode.

Reviews

  • “Acting facets and your own head are not in demand on the Schweiger show. It's about the cheapest surface stimuli and erotic Barbie qualities. "( Stern.de )
  • “If someone else is supposed to be cast according to singing, dancing or catwalk talent, at least one is honest here: only those who sell themselves most convincingly as a sex object can win. Schweiger lets you know from the cast couch, nonsense, from the cast table that "something has already turned out" on his erotic scale. "( Süddeutsche Zeitung )
  • "The dressing of women as a commodity, as the production company Tresor TV already successfully tried out for" Germany's Next Top Model ", is continued in" Mission Hollywood ". Almost without exception, the candidates have to present their skills in front of men. "( Spiegel Online )
