Mission Terra is a German series for children and young people that was produced in 1985-88 by the Hessischer Rundfunk, in collaboration with the TV-Studio-Film GmbH Berlin / Heidelberg . Directed by Carlo Rola . He was assisted by Barbara Schubert and Renate Landkammer . The subtitle of the series is: "Expedition to the blue planet" .

action

On a planet in another galaxy there is a highly developed civilization of human-like beings . One day she discovers the blue planet Terra (earth) and sends an expedition to explore the alien planet. After three more exploratory trips, the head of Commander Ro and the scientist Dr. Kyra commissioned with a fifth expedition to Terra. The crew also includes the talking robot Mikrolino, the flying eye Zoom and the on-board computer MOX . As it turns out upon landing, the air we breathe on the planet Terra is for Commander Ro and Dr. Kyra is toxic, and so they rely on the help of the intelligent and adventurous robot Mikrolino and Zoom for their research. The aim is to learn as much as possible about the way of life of what they call "intelligent two-legged people" and to research the interrelationships of the earth's habitat. For example, people's diet, the problem of garbage disposal or the weather on earth are investigated.

The flying eye Zoom and Mikrolino, who occasionally gets into threatening situations and almost ends up in the junkyard, provide the alien scientists with important information, which is then processed by the MOX on-board computer. Short films are then made in which the respective processes, such as the recycling of glass, are explained. The crew uses their spaceship Metamor 5, which flies through the world in miniature size, as a means of travel. Metamor 5 can be immersed in and disappeared into any object, such as a chewing gum machine or a ketchup bottle. This often leads to difficulties and endangers the crew several times.
